Everytime I move a window around, the tool tip would show but it would sometimes not update the location and size properly if you're precisely moving them and/or stay in place.

I noticed it started happening since 9.6, and downgrading to 9.5 worked (I found a 9.5c installer on the forums) and noticed that the tool tip is back to responding every pixel.

We may actually have this fixed up for the next beta. I'll check on that and keep you posted.

Will it popping up when you hold the mouse down as if you were going to move it?

It won't pop up right away, no. Does it do that for you in 9.5?

Ah, no it doesn't. I asked cause I would like to see it as an option.

Ah ok, thanks! I will certainly add that to our feature request list :)

Also, could you try updating to 9.7 Beta 3 and let me know if you still run into the issues with the tooltips?

Thanks!

I tested it out, it still has the issue.

The tool tip popup lags behind the window I'm moving, and when I shake it or move it between 1-3 pixels, the coordinates and size won't update until moved past the 3 pixels.

Ok, that's by design though, as the window has to be detected as "moving" before we can show the tooltip.

I meant when it was already displayed, sorry for the confusion.

It updates every pixel for me once I've moved it past the first 3 pixels. Are you sure that the window is able to move only one pixel at a time? I have to reduce the DPI setting on my mouse to the lowest setting to get it to move 1px at a time, otherwise when I move the window with the mouse, it jumps 3-4px.

Indeed, I am sure. Here's a video of it, comparing 9.5 and 9.7b4.

Ok, thanks! I wonder if this is due to some message throttling we added in 9.6 to prevent CPU issues if the hooks are getting flooded. I'll check in with our developers on that and keep you posted.

Ok, looks like this is due to some message throttling we added in to resolve some CPU issues. We should be able to add an advanced setting to disable the throttling, so I'll keep you posted when that's in.

Thanks!

Haha, I should have just posted the video in the first place.

Alright, thanks for looking into it.

We've just posted a new DisplayFusion beta, and there's an advanced setting to disable the message throttling (Troubleshooting: Disable Hook Message Throttling). Could you try enabling that and restarting DisplayFusion?

Yep, I tested it out for a bit, no issues have popped up so far, seems to be as responsive as before.

Thanks for looking into it for me!
