As to not move all of the DF forum to the beta I thought I would post this out here:

Something that could be useful for gamers! Yay. Anyway, the idea is to aid windowed games, and as those are a PITA to detect for Jon, I was thinking that we could make a list of windows or programs, that when running, disable the wallpaper switching, and or the systemhooks.

I have seen this in other programs, you drag a cursor from the settings menu to the target window and the program IDs the window and for DF would add it to the list, otherwise you pop in the process name.

This is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how maintainable it will be from my side. I would have to release many new versions to add new application support. :( In the future I will be working on a more reliable way to tell if an application is trying to use any graphics sub-systems (OpenGL, DX... etc).

That's the thing about my idea, the user adds the programs. Like I play windowed StarCraft, when DF sees starcraft.exe windowed it doesn't think anything of it. Images keep rotating.. Now I got add starcraft.exe to that list, and wahla, when I play windowed it doesn't rotate. No maintenance from your side, as the user is in control of that list. They could do this with ANY program, even firefox.exe, though that would be rather pointless.

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion forum, this topic is being locked and archived because it applies to an older version of DisplayFusion. If you are using the latest version of DisplayFusion and would still like some assistance, please create a new topic and I'll be happy to help you out. Thanks! :)
