Hi.

Im using a 1440p display as primary monitor, and a 1080p display as secondary. When i open the start menu on the taskbar of the secondary monitor, it always opens on the right side of the primary display, and so started programs start on the primary screen instead of the secondary one.
Btw. i'm using Start10 as start menu.

Strange! Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks! It looks like the second monitor wasn't enabled when you copied the troubleshooting info. Could you send another copy with both monitors enabled?

Thanks! If you change your Primary monitor scaling to 100%, then reboot, does the Start menu work then?

Yes, then it works as it should.

Ok, thanks! I can't reproduce it here with an English copy of Windows 10, so I'm going to try setting up a German copy of Windows 10. I'll keep you posted on what I find out :)

Are you opening the Start menu with the Windows key, or by clicking the Start button with the mouse?

I'm opening it via mouse click. But i tried both, and on both methods, the start menu opens on the first screen.

Could you attach a full debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L2: Log Detailed" and click Apply
  • Click the Start button and note the time
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks! I was finally able to reproduce this issue here, and found out it's actually an open issue on our list to fix up. I've added your info to it and we'll be sure to let you know when we've gotten it all sorted out.

Thanks!

Issue is still not fixed in DP 9.2.2.
Will this ever be fixed?

Apologies for the delay, we haven't had a chance to work on this particular issue yet, but it's still open on our list. I will do my best to get it looked at sooner rather than later.

Thanks!

We've just released DisplayFusion 9.3 Beta 1, and it should fix this issue up. Please let us know if you still have any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

There is still an issue. When i open start menu on second screen, it still can be seen on the first screen for very short time (maybe 100ms) before opening on second screen. And when starting a programm like chrome from start menu on second screen, it opens on first screen, and not on second screen, as intended. Btw, i'm using Start10.

That's expected, as we can't hook the Start menu on Windows 10 :(

To have the new application windows open on the same monitor, you can create a Trigger rule like the attached screenshot.

Hope that helps!
