Hi,
I've installed Windows 11 and DisplayFusion works fine, but it creates these DesktopWindowXamlSource windows which pop-up in the alt-tab window. I've attached a screengrab of the alt-tab popup. What is this, and can it be removed?
Thanks.
edit: just read inside the Windows 11 thread that disabling DF's alt-tab feature fixes this and that indeed works.

Hello,

Could you also try enabling "Hide Windows Metro Apps from Alt+Tab" in the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings, and see if that helps?

Thanks!

Yes, that gets rid of the DesktopWindowXamlSource.

Will this issue be fixed eventually? Ignoring store apps from Alt + Tab is not really what I would call a solution.

Unselecting 'Show the desktop window' from the Normal alt+tab setting helps too.

Hello,

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Hello,

If you restart your computer, does the issue appear immediately after DisplayFusion loads?

Thanks!

Yes it happens immediately. I turned the alt-tab feature on, rebooted my PC, opened 2 windows, pressed alt-tab, and the DesktopWindowXamlSource was there.

Hello,

Interesting okay, do you happen to be logged into an RDP session when the issue happens?

Thanks!

Okay interesting, we haven't had anyone else report the issue come back. Could you send me another copy of your troubleshooting info?

Thanks!

Today it happened again and I exported the log file. I hope it helps narrowing down the cause of this issue.

Thanks for sending that over. Could you also send over a debug log as well? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!
