Hello DisplayFusion team,
I’d like to ask whether there is any ETA or active development effort related specifically to resizing (height/spacing/density) of the Windows 11 primary taskbar using DisplayFusion.
I understand from multiple forum threads that:
DisplayFusion can’t currently replace the Windows 11 primary taskbar
On the primary display, taskbar size and button spacing are locked by Windows 11
This has existed as a feature request since early Windows 11 releases
My use case is limited to resizing the primary taskbar (to fit more application buttons / control spacing), not fully replacing it.
Before abandoning DisplayFusion for this purpose, I wanted to ask directly:
Is primary-taskbar resizing being actively investigated?
Is this considered blocked by Windows 11 APIs, or is it a planned but long-term feature?
Absent Microsoft changes, should users assume primary taskbar resizing will remain unsupported?
A confirmation either way would be very helpful.
Thank you for your time and continued development of DisplayFusion.
The most realistic solution would be replacing the taskbar with a DisplayFusion taskbar so we have full control over it. That brings in a ton of other technical issues we'll need to work around though.
It's on our feature request list, but not something we can provide an ETA on unfortunately.
Thanks!
