Under Windows 10 I used to be able to open the start menu on the second monitor. Now with Windows 11 the start button on the second monitor is still there but it does nothing.

Hello,

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Yes it's indeed kind of fixed in the latest beta. But it's far from perfect as clicking the start button on the second monitor briefly shows the start menu on the first monitor before finally opening it on the second. Plus there seems to be no way to show the start menu in the middle of the task bar like Windows 11 does. Will this be added in the future? What's also strange is the fact that a second click on the start button does not let the start menu disappear but instead reopens it. The standard Windows behavior would be to close the start menu on a second click.

I've added that second-click issue to our list to fix up. The issue of it opening on the Primary and moving to the second monitor isn't fixable unfortunately. We can't hook the start menu, so we have to tell it to open, then poll until it's visible before we can move it.

Thanks for your reply. I can understand that you cannot "fix" the behavior of the start menu. But what about the placement of the start button? Will there be an option to place it in the middle of the task bar like Windows 11 does natively?

Yep! That one is on our list to fix for sure. We've currently got a long list of UI tweaks that need to be made to match Windows 11 more closely and we'll be working through them in the next few beta versions.

Thanks!

So... 8 months later... Still not even something as basic as the start button being in the center with the rest of the taskbar buttons...

I've been a displayfusion user for a LONG time now, but I'm really starting to wonder why I bothered paying for it... Seems like literally nothing gets done anymore the past few years.
