I use Firefox exclusively. I would like to have a shortcut on my left monitor to launch Firefox on the left monitor and conversely a shortcut on my right monitor to launch Firefox on the right monitor. I know I can set it to launch a program on a specific monitor. say the left monitor, but then all shortcuts would launch it on the left.

TL; DR Can we have an option to launch a shortcut on the same screen as the shortcut?

Are you wanting it to be a desktop shortcut, or taskbar shortcut? The DisplayFusion taskbar shortcuts can currently do this :)

A shortcut for Firefox on the taskbar of the primary monitor and a shortcut for Firefox on the secondary monitor. If I hit the shortcut on the secondary monitor via my DisplayFusion taskbar it will always launch Firefox on that monitor (as you said). However, if I launch it via the shortcut on the Windows taskbar on my primary monitor it opens in the last known location which could be either monitor. Is there anyway of forcing that Firefox to always launch on the primary monitor?

Unfortunately there's no way for DisplayFusion to detect that a program was launched from the Windows taskbar, so we can't make it force to that monitor automatically.

However, there's a workaround using Window Location that may work for you. You can create a Window Location rule for *.* (all applications) to force them to the Current Monitor (monitor that has the mouse cursor), so then any program that opens, will always go to the monitor that you clicked the shortcut on. Please see the attached screenshot for reference.

Hope that helps!
