I work in an office where I switch desks 2-4x a day. It's an open office, where I move from a desk with two 27" monitors, to focus rooms where I am in meetings. They too have dual monitors. The entire setup is exactly the same. Same brand monitors, same size, etc.
I saved a Windows Position Profile on the basis that when I disconnect from one location and move to a 2nd location, the apps appear on the same screen, or I can choose the "profile" and it should move the apps to the correct screen.
Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. When I get to a 2nd location and choose the profile, I do see apps flashing around, but none of them end up on the correct screen.
My impression is that the profile is supposed to move the apps to appear on monitor 1 (laptop), monitor 2, or monitor 3.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this not the intention of this feature/tool?

That should work for you, are you saving the window position profiles while you're on each monitor config? Do the monitor IDs change at all? When you save the window position profile, move to the other location, then move back, load the window position profile, is it still in the wrong spots?

Here is what I have done, and also do currently.
At my main "desk/station". I arranged the various apps (Outlook, web, office apps, etc.) on the monitors I like for them to be on while I work. I then saved that as a provile I called "Standard Monitor Seteup" (or something like that). Later that day, I undocked and went to a focus room. I then went and chose DisplayFusion and clikced to load the Windows Profile I saved. "Things" started to happen as I saw apps sort of move around on the screens. After about 10-15 seconds things appear to have settled down. But, many of the apps showed up on monitors that are not in the profile.
The profile I saved is on monitors 1, 2, 3. In each desk or focus room I sit, the monitor is set up like that - left to tight: 1, 2, 3.
One thing your question makes me think of though. I saved only one profile. I assumed this save the profile for the entire (3 monitor) arrangement. Your question makes me wonder if I was supposed to save a profile for each of the three montitors?
