Hi,

As of the most recent beta, Chrome will not maximize properly when using NVIDIA Surround and splitted screens. Basically what it does is it resizes the window to the the size of the virtual monitor, but it remains in windowed mode, not maximized. Normally this would not be an issue, but Chrome's title bar is extra big when it is in windowed mode, and will shrink only when the window is properly maximized. In previous versions it maximized just fine.

On the plus side, Photoshop seems to be obeying maximize command better now. In the previous version it would not stay contained inside one virtual screen, but expanded to all three monitors.

Thanks

Ah sorry, we made this change to resolve an issue with the weird window borders in Chrome when using splitting on systems that have Aero (DWM) disabled. We'll see if we can change it back to the old way for machines that have DWM enabled for Beta 4 :)

Thanks!

Ah, yes. I remember that problem. I've since switched to using DWM because it solves problems with video tearing because of the double buffering.

On a related note to this new fix: Now if I try to drag a "maximized" window (like Chrome) to another screen, it will not maximize itself on that screen, but remains as a window. Those applications which are maximized the old fashion way automatically maximize themselves to that screen where they are dragged to. I guess you have some checks for whether the window was previously maximized and perform some magic based on that when dragging, but now that apps like Chrome are not actually maximized that check fails. Not a big problem, but slightly inconsistent.

Yeah, that's a side-effect of the "fake" maximize. We should be able to make Chrome only use the fake maximize if DWM is disabled, so that would fix up both of your issues. I'll let you know as soon as we're able to do that :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
