Which taskbar is the game missing from, the Windows taskbar or the DisplayFusion one? Thanks!

Does the game window get moved to a secondary taskbar while DisplayFusion is running?

Ok, on the DisplayFusion Settings > Compatibility tab, could you try adding a rule for the game? In the rule, enable the "Disable removing from Windows taskbar" option.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

sorry for the delay, I was some days on vacation. This don't work. The games I talk about are Trine 2 and Trine 3. Both games shows no icon on taskbar when I run them in windowed mode. AS I told diasabling display fusion shows the icons.

Ok, could you send over a debug log?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Launch the game
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Ok, we're really stumped on this one! From the logs, DisplayFusion doesn't appear to be removing the button intentionally.

If you disable the DisplayFusion multi-monitor taskbar feature before you start the game, but leave DisplayFusion running, does the button still disappear from the Windows taskbar?

Ok, that's good to know! I need to check on something again and I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

Would you be able to do the debug logging steps from post #8 above, but set it to L2 instead of L1 logging?

Make sure to disable logging after sending us the logs, L2 will affect performance.

Thanks!

The only thing weird in this log is that it's mentioning something about a pinned shortcut, but from your troubleshooting info, it doesn't look like you've got any shortcuts pinned on the DF taskbars. Could you try a couple of things?

1. If you just disable the DisplayFusion taskbars, but leave DisplayFusion running, does the icon stay on the Windows taskbar?

2. Is that game pinned on the Windows taskbar at all? If it is, could you try removing it?

3. Could you backup your settings (Settings > Options > Export) and send them over?

Thanks!

Hi,

if I disable the multi monitor taskbar ist didn't change. If I enable it and set it to the 3rd one (in german: Jede Taskleiste zeigt alle geöffneten Fenster an) it shows not on the main monitor but on the other two. On the 2nd one (Windows Taskleitse zeigt alle Fenster, DisplayFusion zeigt nur zugehörige Fenster) there is no icon on all monitors. The game is not pinned to the taskbar.

When it's not showing up on the taskbar, does it show up in Alt+Tab?

Ok, we're more or less out of ideas on this one :(

Is Trine the only game with this issue, or can you reproduce it with other games? I'm wondering if we might have a game in one of our Steam libraries that we can test this with.
