So if you click the start button on the DF taskbar a few times it stars opening the windows start menu on my main monitor. The same goes for clicking the ^ a few times.

Furthermore applications running on one monitor if you then go to open a second instance (like chrome) even if opened from a DF taskbar on secondary monitor, will still open on the primary monitor where the first chrome is already open.

These two things are really making the DF taskbars not very useful....

For the Start Menu/Tray Icon hidden area issues, is this happening when you click them multiple times in a row, quickly?

For the Chrome window thing, you can create a Trigger rule that will force all new windows to open on the monitor where the mouse cursor is. Please see the attached screenshot for reference.

Thanks!

Yes it is multiple times quick.

Your trigger works for chrome now. Shouldn't this be the default behavior?

Ok, the Start menu/tray overflow thing is expected if you're clicking it multiple times in a row quickly. We can't hook those windows, so we have to use polling, and if it happens too quickly then it will be caught on the wrong monitor.

Glad to hear that Trigger rule worked. It's not the default because we try to default with not moving windows around so that people don't install DisplayFusion and wonder why their windows suddenly aren't opening where they used to :)

Why can't we hook them? Can we make a version of this that runs as TrustInstaller so we can hook them?

No, they run as UWP (universal apps) which just can't be hooked at all :(

So I am back to the same problem as before and applications will not open on the monitor they were opened from. It works for chrome but not for other applications like discord.

Is Discord opening fresh? Or being restored from the system tray?
