I want to apologize for last nights beta build, it was a real mess-up on my end. I was pushed for time, and something went wrong in the post-build step that messed it up. Rookie mistake, my fault. It's fixed now though, along with much improved Excel support (again). :) Please give it a download and let me know how it works for you! Thanks!

Jon,
There is no need to apologize. I have been nothing but amazed at the speed and effort you put into this project. That being said, that is why you have beta tests. :-) Items are being added back to the main windows taskbar again when moved from secondary, so that seems to be resolved. I would like to also note that the taskbars seem to be a little bit snappier now. Did you change the updated speed or something? I for one say keep up the good work.

Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Even giant commercial software companies have to put software into escrow, to be absolutely certain that a mistake didn't get introduced at the last minute..

The new build looks good.

Jon, thanks for the update. I'll check out how it handles Excel, but for now, the DF taskbar still gets stuck behind apps. Main taskbar was set to auto-hide. Here's my log:

@SysWiz: I noticed that both of your info posts have the RDP client open. DisplayFusion might be detecting this as a fullscreen window, and sending the taskbar behind it. Are you running the RDP session as fullscreen, or in a window?

Possible regression, I think this bug is back.

Quote:
Problem: Clicking on the window of any program in the secondary monitor causes it to appear on the main taskbar momentarily (1/2 seconds) yet its window remains in place. This only happens in the taskbar.

Unfortunately that bug hasn't been fixed yet. It is an unfortunate side-effect of the way the new DF version manages the taskbar items. This is the only way to get it working in Win7. I will be spending time before the 3.1 release to address it, but it's a sizeable issue without an easy fix. :(

@rpsgc: LOL - I feel the same way. :) However, this bug is only a very minor cosmetic issue and doesn't affect the performance/functionality of DisplayFusion in any way. I am going to push this bug into the bigger 3.1 release. I need time to properly research and test a good solution, as the ones I've tested so far to correct this have been unstable. :( Don't worry though, I'm not ignoring it. :)

We know, Jon - and we're not being fanboys when we say this. We all know that you really do put a lot of time and (well-spent) effort into this project. I for one really really appreciate it.
I am I.

I tested out a few things and I've come to some conclusions:

Under "Performance Mode" I can't reproduce that bug anymore however the whole system feels sluggish and it further increases the general lagginess.
Enabling "Preventing System Hooks" DF seems to load up faster and, despite still maintaining some high CPU usage at times, doesn't seem to lag.

On that note, can you tell me what it is that enabling "Preventing System Hooks" breaks?

Uhhh, unless you released without telling anyone, DF likes to update to 3.0.5.... Non beta. Did you release it?

Lol twittered.

@rpsgc: Using the "Prevent system hooks" setting will break the window snapping, and the maximized window dragging/middle-clicking.

I usually change between window and full screen depending on my task. Well, I tested that theory today with the 3.0.5 release and NOT running RDP. No go. DF taskbar still hiding...
