Just like to say, I love your app. I use it and Start8.

My bug is this: I have my taskbar positioned vertically on the left side of my screen. When I open Steam and some other programs, the window, when maximized, is positioned incorrectly behind the taskbar but there is the correct amount of space on the right side of the window. But only on my second monitor.

Hard to explain, easy to show in a screen shot ;)

Thanks for any help!

Glad to hear you like DisplayFusion, and thanks for reporting this issue! Unfortunately, it's actually a bug in Steam. For some reason, Steam always maximizes to the position and size of the primary monitor, even when it's on a secondary monitor.

I've submitted a ticket to Valve about it, so hopefully they'll be able to fix it up in a future release :)

Thanks!

This issue is still actual. Any news from Valve?

This maximizing wrong is a problem I've been having for quite a while now. I just found out by coincidence that it only occurs when displayfusion is running. When it's not running it correctly resizes to the secondary monitor resolution. Now I'm sure steam is maximizing in a non-standard way, but it's now obvious why the steam engineers can't reproduce the problem; they aren't running displayfusion. Now I could try to get steam/valve to fix this, but I have more faith in you to make a fix/workaround, especially as the issue isn't occuring without displayfusion.

It actually happens even if you don't have DisplayFusion running. It's related to the taskbar being on the non-primary monitor, so even if you exit DisplayFusion, then move the Windows taskbar over to the non-primary monitor, Steam does the weird maximizing thing. It happens with other applications that create AppBars on the non-primary monitor as well :(

I'm going to follow-up with the Steam support folks again and see if they've been able to investigate this issue. In my previous requests to them, I did provide complete steps on how to reproduce it, including installing DisplayFusion, or moving the Windows taskbar, so they should hopefully be able to reproduce it there.

Thanks!

Ah I see, so it happens when there is any taskbar (whether a displayfusion one, or the windows one) on the secondary screen and it doesn't happen when there's no taskbar there. So really a steam bug then. It has been there for years apparently, and they ignore the issue, when they are constantly fixing display issues on linux and in big screen mode :/ Anyway thanks for trying to get Steam support to fix it again :)

@Boris: Yep! Unfortunately it happens if there's any "AppBar" style window docked on the non-primary screen :(

According to the thread at http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/864957912691535839/ Valve is not able to reproduce the problem and has made some fixes to Steam, however the issue still occurs for me.

I've checked out that thread, and it sounds like they are not testing with a taskbar on the second monitor. We haven't heard back from Valve about whether they've been able to confirm it when using a taskbar, but hopefully they'll get a chance to do some more testing on it soon :)

It seems that this issue still exists even now. Doesn't seem like Valve is going to ever fix this issue.
