Hi all - Upon updating to 9.7 (in Windows 10), DisplayFusion itself (including the taskbar right click menu, the settings window, and all title bar buttons) is at a much higher DPI/resolution than all my other windows, which remain where I want them in that regard.

I cannot figure out why this happened or how to fix. Of course, it's also currently very hard to even read all the settings! :D

See attached jpg to get a sense of what I'm talking about, at least in terms of comparing resolutionas (not that legible on my actual desktop because much smaller).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Could you try doing a logout/login to Windows? If that doesn't fix it up, could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info?

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks!

Hi - It's been an issue ever since the update, so logging in and out/restarting has not helped. Here is the requested log. Thanks.

Thanks! It seems to not be reading the video card or monitor details correctly. Are you logged in through remote desktop, or is this local? And how is the monitor connected? Directly to the computer, or through a USB dock or USB display adapter?

Yes, I'm connecting via Microsoft Remote Desktop. I am using a 16" Macbook Pro and I do a dual display with an LG UltraFine via USB-C direct connection. The resolution is off regardless of which monitor I am looking at DisplayFusion on, if relevant. The strange thing is that this was not an issue with the exact same set up, prior to updating to 9.7.

Interesting! Could you roll back to DisplayFusion 9.6.1 and then send me a new copy of the troubleshooting info?

Good morning. Sure thing. Here you go, though I'm not sure how helpful it will be, because even after rolling back it looks like the resolution issue persists.

Ok, that's good at least, it means we didn't break something with 9.7. Could be an update to the Remote Desktop app or a Windows update.

It sounds a lot like this issue: https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/titlebar-buttons-extra-tiny-so-is-df-menu-and-all-binary-fortress-apps-too/?ID=54ec967f-ecac-47af-9cb1-a06c3a5d65f1#3

If you disable the option in post #3 there, does that fix it?

Keith - That did indeed fix it! Thanks for pointing me to that discussion. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that it's worth giving up the better resolution on everything else. I'll follow that thread in the hopes that this gets resolved (no pun intended ;))

No worries, thanks! There isn't a solution to that at the moment because Windows is reporting the wrong scaling level to DisplayFusion :(

If we do find a way around it in the future though, we'll definitely follow-up in that other thread.

Thanks!
