Hi there,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to set Displayfusion to disable or stop windows from trying to search for monitors that I have already disabled? Not sure if I'm making sense, but I'll to explain below.

So i have 6 monitor in total, 4 monitors are on a Racing Sim Rig (triple screen on Display Ports, fourth screen on HDMI), and 2 monitors (primary on Display Port, secondary on HDMI are on desk. I switch between Sim Rig setup and Desk setup using DP and HDMI switchers. In DisplayFusion profiles, I have already set up few profiles for each setups as this screenshot:

As you can see, I have set the correspondings monitors for the setup that I want to use, that is Quad or Triple screen for when I'm on my racing sim rig, and dual monitors for when I'm on my desk (all other monitors are disabled via Displayfusion and is on standby with orange led color.

However, for some reason, whenever i'm on my desk, either windows or DisplayFusion is trying to search for the other 2 monitors that are already disabled/on standby. When this happens, there would be a sound (like usb disconnect sound), then the monitor led which was orange/on standby, will become white (as in active), and the disabled monitors will temporary show "DisplayPort NO SIGNAL". After that, both of the monitors will be then be on standby automatically. I can recreate this over and over again whenever I open up netflix, or any other video player / streaming apps.

Here's a video of the said issues, please turn up the volume to hear the "usb disconnect" sound, then at the end of the video, you can see the 2 monitors on my sim rig light up for a few seconds, then back to standby.

Here's what the monitor configuration window looks like:

As you can see, monitor 1 and 2 are my sim rig monitors, and both have been disabled.

So my question would be how do I either stop windows or DisplayFusion to actively trying to search for disabled/standby monitors?

Sorry i'm not really sure how to put img here, so i've included them as attachments.

Thank you.

Regards.

Ooh yeah we do have similar setup. But the issues I'm having are not the same. If I understand you correctly, you're having problems with the profiles and desktop extensions right? I dont have those issues, except DisplayFusion or Windows is actively trying to search for disabled/standby monitors that are connected directly to the GPU. when that happens, I would get stutters..

If you exit DisplayFusion and let your computer run, do those monitors still connect/disconnect?

Hi yes, I tried exiting DisplayFusion and it still happens. Would you be able to assist me?

Thanks!

If you have the Windows Display Settings open while the issue is happening, do you see the monitors disconnecting/reconnecting?

Hi,

Yes I can see they're disconnecting and reconnecting. It'll show 4 monitors, two desk monitors (3 and 4), and the two monitors (1 and 2) on my sim rig (which are already disabled), are being shown on windows setting. However, when i scroll down and select the sim rig monitors (1 and 2), the multiple displays setting has already been set to "Disconnect this display". Going into Advance Display Settings showed "Display 1 isnt active".

Any idea?

Ah okay, this is likely a hardware issue then, there isn't much DisplayFusion can do here.

Have you tried swapping out the cables? I wonder if they are bad and the connection keeps resetting
