Sorry if this is repeated elsewhere, but I have got close to what I need by using the forums but need just a little bit more help.

I have just installed a 3rd monitor (exclusively for watching videos) and was having the problems with it becoming windowed when I would maximize/minimize things on my other two monitors.

In the window location tab, I have created an entry for windows media player and set it to use the 3rd monitor and also set window size to maximize. This works pretty well but there is a bar that remains across the top that will not go away. I also don't really think it is maximized because if I double-click the video player it will go to true full screen and the bar across the top goes away. Although when I click on another application that is maximized in another window, the bar returns.

I have also tried changing the entry from maximized to run selected function and selected "prevent windows deactivation", but that doesn't seem to work as expected.

All I really want is to run videos full screen on my third monitor without anything I do in the other monitors effecting the full screen mode.

Thanks!
Kent

Thanks for the follow up, Keith.

I tried your suggestion of setting "Show taskbar in front of full screen applications when they lose focus", but that had no effect.

I have also tried shutting off the taskbar on the third monitor, but that has had no effect either.

In case this helps, I have found that when I place media player in full screen mode, I can click on other windows in other monitors without losing full screen so long as they are windowed. If I click on an application that is maximized, that is when media player jumps out of full screen mode.

Thanks,
Kent

Ok, which version of Windows and Windows Media Player? I'd like to test this out here.

Thanks!

Thanks, to clarify, the other windows that you're clicking on are maximized? Or full screen as well?

Could you attach a copy of the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\DisplayFusion\DebugInfo.html file as well?

Thanks!

The other windows are regular maximized windows. Such as Firefox.

As an aside, I have tried the same thing using VLC Media Player and it works as expected, so for now I am just using that instead of Windows Media Player. I would appreciate a fix for this, but it is not as high a priority as it initially was (microsofts loss).

Thanks Keith.

Ok, glad to hear you found a workaround at least. I still haven't been able to reproduce this issue here. If you exit DisplayFusion completely, does this issue still occur?

Yes, I quit DisplayFusion and Windows Media Player still exited full screen mode when I clicked on another maximized program in another monitor.

Btw, I searched the location you provided for the DebugInfo.html file but it didn't exist. The folder was there but it was empty.

Ah ok, don't worry about the DebugInfo file. If it's happening when DisplayFusion isn't running, there must be something else on your system that's causing it to happen. Unfortunately I'm not sure what that would be. I tried searching Google for your issue, and did find a bunch of Microsoft threads about the issue, but none seemed to have a solution for it :(
