For some reason, DisplayFusion's multi-taskbars overlap the window that is underneath it at random times.

What I mean is that Windows doesn't "see" the taskbar and extends the window underneath DP's taskbar and it overlaps the window. Hopefully that makes sense :)

It does make sense :)

Are there any particular apps that it happens with a lot? The apps that I'm using seem to be ok, but if there's ones that I could try so that we can troubleshoot the problem, that would be fantastic.

Ok, I haven't been able to duplicate it. The next time it happens, could you send me the info from the Troubleshooting tab in DisplayFusion while the problem is on the screen?

Thanks!

Quick question, I noticed in your troubleshooting log that the taskbar is set to be on the right side of the screen. When the windows are getting underneath the taskbar, are they maximized?

Ok, interesting! I'm going to run my taskbar on the right side for a while and see if I can reproduce the issue. In the meantime, can you enable Debug Logging on the Troubleshooting tab in DisplayFusion? Then when it occurs again, hit the Open Log Location button and email me the DisplayFusion.log file. Hopefully we'll be able to catch something weird happening in the debug log :)

Thanks!

Awesome. Does it happen when you move the window to the screen using the titlebar buttons?

Could you also try out 3.4.0 Beta 2 and let me know if you still run into the issue?

Thanks!

Still trying to track down this issue unfortunately :(

When it happens, does it happen as soon as you maximize the window? Or does the taskbar just all of a sudden cover up an already maximized window?

Hmm...the taskbar just covers up the window as if... rather.. can't you just have the taskbars set it to "always on top"?

The taskbar is essentially set to be always on top. It's a docked window meaning that the usable area of the monitor is reduced by the size of the taskbar, so applications should never be able to maximize behind it. It's a tough one to figure out, but hopefully we'll be able to resolve it at some point :)

Ok, well I'll definitely keep at it! Interesting that a restart of DisplayFusion resolves the issue. How long is DisplayFusion usually running before you start having issues?

Anywhere from couple hours to a couple of days... I have my computer on 24/7

Offtopic - May I suggest Trac or Google Code for issues, so bugs don't get repeatedly report? :) Just suggesting

Ok good to know.

We've considered making the bug/feature request tracking public, but for now we've decided to keep it private.

Thanks!

@xxsashixx and @Eric: Another customer has discovered that the nVidia nView software was causing this issue on his computer. http://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/issues-with-windows-maximizing/?ID=adfd671e-b96c-45c6-8d40-4efbb44bda93#2ce8ff77-cdef-4a30-bf45-4108a6fb008a

Are you guys running nView as well?

Ok, can you go into the nView Desktop Manager settings and make sure it's actually disabled? If possible, could you post a screenshot of the nView Desktop Manager settings window? I don't have nView Desktop Manager here, so I'm only going on what others have told me :)

Thanks!

most of the times yes. I'm not sure if its a Chrome issue or a DisplayFusion issue..

Ok, so your issue is probably caused by something different than the other folks then.

I did find this: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=3bc4e7abbd7a748f&hl=en. Are you running any of the extensions listed in that post?

Another follow-up. I found this as well: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=4c6805bbedf63539&hl=en

Is Chrome going behind the taskbar only when you put it into full-screen mode? Or does it do it just when maximizing as well?

Just wanted to follow-up, we fixed an issue that was causing some windows to maximize behind the taskbar. If you're still having issues like this, please give 3.5 Beta 5 a try: http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/

Thanks!
