Just updated from 3.3.1 to latest beta (too many good features to wait!).

I have 4 monitors, and 3 & 4 have always been reversed - i.e. DF numbers them backwards to what the Win7 'identify' function presents.

Minor but annoying, and I see the release notes for b16 say this is fixed, but not for me.
___
Cheers,
David

Ok, so they were backwards even in 3.3.1?

Could you run the following test program and email the output to support@displayfusion.com along with the stuff listed below?

http://www.binaryfortress.com/files/CustomerTest-003.exe
  • Screen shot of your Windows Display Settings
  • The DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window
  • The text from the Troubleshooting tab in the DisplayFusion Settings?
Thanks!

Hi David, I've posted a new version of the CustomerTest utility here:
http://www.binaryfortress.com/files/CustomerTest.exe

Can you please give it a try and either post the result here or send it to support@binaryfortress.com? Thanks!

Same problem here, only it just started with the install of v3.4.0Beta 18.

As soon as I allowed it to install, I received a message that my wallpaper settings had changed. I tried to click the close button on the balloon, but missed and it changed my wall papers - reversed them from my current settings. I then went exploring in DF, and this is what I came up with:

Windows has my monitors set the way I want them - Monitor on left (attached to primary video card) is designated the primary monitor, and the monitor on the right (attached to second video card that is SLI'd to primary video card) is designated monitor 2, aka Extended monitor. It was the same in DF as well, until beta 18.

Now, DF shows it reversed - left = 2p, right = 1. See attached screenshot (DP being Displayfusion Pro - if you look up my forum username you won't find it, Jon may remember me :D - PM me for details, and I'll gladly provide them)

Here is the Customer Test output:

Odd. Monitor '1' shows coords starting at 0,0 and mon 2 shows coords starting at 1680,0 - which indicates that it knows the right order. And yet, the connectors for each monitors are '2' and '0'.

This is in line with the way Windows usually boots on first install - it wants to make the right hand monitor the default main monitor, but the way my eVGA motherboard is set up, that monitor is actually plugged into the video card that is SLi'd to the primary video card. IOW, windows gets it wrong. I move the monitors around by drag and drop, and then make the left monitor primary.

Oh, and as I mentioned previously, this has not happened in a very long time - I cannot recall how long ago something like this did occur, but it has been a while since DF Pro went askew from what I have set in Windows.

HTH

Thanks for following-up so quickly! I just posted a new version of that utility after you posted in this topic, don't worry, you didn't miss it the first time. :) It looks like this new detection worked properly, so expect this to be fixed in Beta 19 very soon. Thanks!

Awesome!

Sorry I've been away so much from the forums - hyperactive on the Android forums, plus in the second year of my master's program - crunch time for me, and I thought last year was bad doing the first year of the master's with the last year of my second Bachelor's lol....

Love the new discussions. Very nice and clean. And I see you've got more staff now! 'Gratz!

I'll come back to say hi and read posts - I basically stopped posting b/c DF was doing everything I wanted it to without a single issue lol...
