That's the sound that Windows plays for a notification toast, we don't have any control over that. In the Windows Sounds control panel, I changed the sound on my system for the "Notification" sound to "Windows Balloon."

Notifications are disabled, its not the balloon directly, and this only started happening recently, and it is not at all the balloon noise, it sounds like a laser or warning noise, nothing I have EVER heard from windows.

And you absolutely have control over notifications, don't cop out on that- it's all app defined- but these are not that, my notifications are gone when I trigger the next wall paper but pausing/unpausing still make a jarring terrible noise.

Ah yep, sorry. I misunderstood which notification you were talking about. Settings > Advanced Settings > Disable Sound Effects will take care of that.

Ok thank you, but as one of your long time fans.... that needs to be toggled on, having DF randomly make EXTREMELY loud noises is offputting.

No worries, I will add your feedback and if we get more complaints about it we'll definitely look into changing it.

Thanks!
