Hi there

This has been bugging me since I purchased Display Fusion, but today I've decided to do something about it.

One of the Functions that I love is "Span Window Across all Monitors", which lets me assign a shortcut key to it, and then have Visual Studio sized to appear across all my monitors at once.

However when you do "Span Window Across all Monitors", the window is spanned to the total desktop size, so it appears under the TaskBar. It would be great if it could be Spanned to the available desktop size not including the TaskBar. As it is, I can resize the window afterwards (as it's not a maximised window, just one of the desktop size), and move it up again. However it would be lovely if this were addressed, so that it could be just a single keystroke.

I have also looked at http://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/issues-with-windows-maximizing/?ID=adfd671e-b96c-45c6-8d40-4efbb44bda93 which I do not believe is the same issue, as in that case I believe they are clicking the Maximise icon, judging by the screenshot showing "Restore". This is not a Maximised window, just a very large non-maximised one.

The first attachment is how it is now. The second attachment is how it would be awesome, if you were able to address.

Cheers

Andy

It definitely shouldn't be spanning below the taskbar. Does this happen on a fresh restart of DisplayFusion, or only after a certain amount of time?

Hi Keith

Thanks for the reply, sorry I've only just seen it (and now whitelisted the notification email address!). Anyhow can report that this was "replace operator error" ;)

Turns out I didn't have this mapped to the keyboard shortcut that I thought, and actually this failure belongs to Ultramon. Using the correct shortcut, and Display Fusion spans great :)

HOWEVER!

The reason that Ultramon is still installed as well, is because of this feature. In Visual Studio full-screen mode (shift-alt-enter on any code window), "Span Window across all monitors" will NOT stretch it across multiple windows (but Ultramon's equivalent does)

Is that fixable? If so, I can remove Ultramon for once and for all :)

Don't know if you're a Visual Studio user, but as soon as you need to split the window horizontally (e.g. to edit 2 bits of the same file at once), then fullscreen mode is the best way to keep a decent amount of code on the screen (dropping all the menus and minimising all the utility windows). Personally I like to go no more than 2 files open / monitor (vertical tab group) - so your app is awesome at letting Visual Studio normally run across all my monitors for more code at my finger tips. Fixing this would be awesome for productivity.

Cheers

We've released DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 16 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/), and this issue should be all fixed up :)

Thanks!
