I am using Start8 with DF and things were working fine. Recently when I click on the start menu on the 2nd monitor, only the start menu on the primary monitor. Is this a start 8 issue or is it a configuration issue on my part? If it is Start8, will the classic shell fix this?

thanks,
Fred

Start8 isn't currently supported by DisplayFusion, but we're hoping to add it soon. Classic Shell is currently supported in the latest DisplayFusion 5.0 Beta (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/)

Thanks!

@Lee: Vote added! Also note, DisplayFusion currently supports Classic Shell, which is another decent Start menu replacement for Windows 8: http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/

Hey all! We've just released DisplayFusion 5.0 Beta 7, which adds support for Start8. You can grab it here: http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/

Please let us know if you run into any trouble at all.

Thanks!

On the second monitor the start menu seems to open and then close immediately. All I see is a flicker.

I enabled "All Lines" logging and clicked on the start menu button a few times on my second monitor.

Thank you for adding Start8 support! I've been watching this thread for the last couple of weeks and meaning to add my +1. Was happy to see that the latest beta now has support built in.

I've had Start8 installed (currently version 1.1) and I just installed Beta 7 of Display Fusion. Before updating to Beta 7 I uninstalled Classic Shell. Now when I click the start menu on monitor 1 and 3 I get the Win 8 fullscreen metro menu in monitor 2. Clicking the start menu in monitor 2 brings up the Start8 monitor as expected.

I took a look at the troubleshooting tab in DF's settings dialog and I see the following:

File: External: Classic Start Menu: --
• Path: --
File: External: Start8: --
• Path: --

Is there a way for me to specify the Start8 location? I've tried reinstalling Start8, resetting all task bars in DF and rebooting my system. For some reason, DF refuses to notice that I have Start8 installed. Am I missing something simple?

Edit: I forgot to mention, I've tried turning Start8's "Show a start button on secondary taskbars (if any)" on and off, neither setting made a difference.

I am having the same issue. When I go to taskbar settings, it does not detect Start 8 but has a link to download it.

I thought I should add that I was running Start8 1.03. I am now running Start8 1.10 and the issue is still there.

Hey all, we've got some bad news. We've had to remove the support for Start8 for now, as it's just not working correctly, and we're out of ideas on it at the moment. We are still going to revisit it, and hopefully get in contact with Stardock to see if they can help as well.

I'll be sure to post another update when we have more news.

Thanks!

Hi all, just a quick update to let you know that DisplayFusion Beta 10 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) now supports Start8 again. Note that you'll need the latest Start8 Beta as well, which is version 1.11. You should be able to grab it from Stardock's site if you log in to your account.

Thanks!

The latest I saw this weekend on the Stardock site was 1.10 beta 1, is that the one to use?
