When I press the start menu button on the primary monitor it pops up and functions as normal.

When I press the start menu button on the secondary monitor it pops up on the primary monitor.

I'm running Windows 10, no additional apps or programs to modify start menu / taskbar / etc except for display fusion.

When using the integrated taskbar feature with Windows 10 the start menu on the secondary screen works as normal.

Thanks for attaching the debug log! Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info as well?
  • Open the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the Copy to Clipboard button
  • Open Notepad, paste the text, and save the file
  • Reply with the text file attached

I'm experiencing the same issue, while using Windows 10 original taskbar the start menu opens just fine in #2 display but when using displayfusion taskbar it opens exclusively in #1 display. I refuse to use windows10 original taskbar because it's unable to display date & clock.

I have a similar bug: I realize you can't immediately hook the start menu, so it has to animate on the main monitor, then move to the other monitor, that's fine.
however: typing to search in the start menu brings it back to the main monitor, and it stays there. I didn't see that mentioned in the known bugs list, and thought it may be related to this.

@ZMuerte: I was able to reproduce that issue here and have added it to our list.

@Jennay: Everything in the troubleshooting info looks fine. Would you be able to update to 7.3 Beta 2 and then send a debug log?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

I've installed the 7.3 Beta 2 version and still experience the same issue as before.

Time was 11:59AM

Thanks Jennay. Can you attach the "DisplayFusion.log" file as well? You'll likely need to reproduce it again first, since the log rolls over.

I re-downloaded and re-installed the 7.3 Beta 2. When I press the start menu button on the secondary monitor the start menu pop ups on the primary monitor and then moves over to the secondary monitor with a 2 second delay.

Please note that previously I had the program installed onto a secondary hard drive that did not contain the OS. I have now installed the current beta version onto the hard drive where my OS is located.

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and most of the Start menu issues should be fixed up now. For setups where font/DPI scaling is not used, the Start menu will open directly on whatever monitor you clicked the Start button on. For setups where the non-Primary monitors have different DPI scaling settings, the Start menu will open on the Primary monitor, then move to the monitor you clicked the Start button on.

Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

I used Beta 4 for some day's and all was good. The problem the startmenu opened on my primary monitor and not my secondary was fixed.

Now I installed beta 6 and it still works, but the startmenu moves after a second from next to the startbutton to under the startbutton. (on my secondary monitor)
BTW I got taskbar on the left on my secondary monitor

So now it covers the taskbar. It didn't do that in Beta 4 and I like that beter.

It was actually fixed by accident in beta 4, because we hadn't even had a chance to look at that issue yet, but we'll hopefully have it fixed up properly for the next beta :)

Just a heads up that the positioning issue on vertical taskbars should be all fixed up in 7.3 :)

Thanks!
