Hi BFS,

since some time, I have a problem with DisplayFusion and Toad for Oracle. Toad starts with a splash screen while loading and creates its main window when done. This seems to confuse the Alt+Tab handler. I can only see the icon of Toad and a blank preview (aee attachment). When looking at the debug information of DF, I always see one entry where "Handle" and "Original: Handle" are different (see attachment). I think the splash screen creates the main window in some hacky way, so DF does not recognize it as the new main handle. Taskbar, Preview and such work with Toad, only Alt+Tab seems to be stuck with the (now dismissed) splash screen. That leads to not being able to Alt+Tab-switch to Toad, which is kind of ruining every workflow. btw: If I start Toad first and DF afterwards, the main window is registered successfully. But doing that four times a day is kind of annoying, too ;) Is there a way to reload Alt+Tab windows with scripting? That would be a feasible workaround, which could be triggered by an action handler.

Versions:
Windows 10 (Build 1607)
Toad for Oracle 12.10.0.30
DisplayFusion Pro 8.1 Beta 1

I can file a support request, too, if that would be more helpful?!

FYI: Attached screenshots were captured independently, windows and handles don't match between them.

Thanks and greetings,
Julian

I can't seem to ALT-TAB to TOAD for Oracle when DisplayFusion 8.0.0 is running. If I shut down DF, it appears again in the apps list.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I'll grab a trial for Toad and test this out here. Sounds like it should be pretty easy to reproduce, but if we need more info from your system, we'll definitely let you know!

Thanks!

We were able to reproduce this issue here, and I've added it to our list. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we're able to fix it up :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Hi Keith,

works like a charm. Thanks for the really quick fix. If I just had made a forum post earlier ;)

May I ask for a brief description of what was the problem here? Is it a Delphi "feature" of creating windows? I didn't work with Delphi before, so I have no clue how it handles things.

Anyway, thanks a lot. Great support over here - made the buy even more worth it.

Cheers,
Julian

I'm not sure, to be honest, I'd have to check with our devs on that. I do know that when we run into issues like this, more often than not, it's due to some weirdness with Delphi apps though :)
