A recent AVG and Avast antivirus update is preventing DisplayFusion 9.9 from launching on some systems.
If you're running into this issue, please update to the latest DisplayFusion 10.0 Beta.

Tray icons not all showing now after Windows 11 Moment 2 Update.

Most of my tray icons cannot be "shown" anymore after the Windows 11 Moment 2 Update. I use Nircmd to hide the Windows taskbar and have DF taskbars on both of my monitors. It's been working fine until Windows 11 Moment 2 Update installed the other day. Now that little "up" arrow next to the tray icons. The "up" arrow you click on to show all the other tray icons, is gone.
The only tray icons that are there are network and volume.

Edit:
I just now updated to DF v10 beta 22 and the issue is still there.

Microsoft made some changes to the taskbar in the KB5022913 update, for me, not only DF's multi-monitor taskbar only shows the system tray icon from Windows itself, but also all previously working ways of making windows taskbar fully transparent (clear) become invalid.

Same thing for me. The only tray icons that show now are Windows network and sound. All app tray icons have disappeared.

HI,
i'm also missing the Notification area system tray on my second screen, other than the clock and network icons
it's one of the main reason i use DF
i hope they can fix it as i never had a problem with avg and 9.9
i'm a avg/avst reseller using cloadcare service for all my clients and myself
other than the normal start up delay to deal with, we never had any reports of problems
using DF and AVG/AVAST
But not having a fully working Notification area-system tray is a real pain

I have the same problem with system tray up arrow missing. Also, my task view is blank, just a gray screen when I press Windows key + tab. It doesn't show me thumbnails of any of my open apps. My productivity is shattered.

After BETA 23 update tray icons will show in DisplayFusion taskbar, but it seems has problem with LibreHardwareMonitor, it seems LibreHardwareMonitor tray icon will cause DisplayFusion taskbar adds more of it as time goes.

I have upgraded to beta 23 and it is a step in the right direction, thanks.
But I have autohide taskbar on all my taskbars and then on the DF taskbars the upward pointing arrow disappears regularly. This is not the case when autohide is not enabled on all taskbars.
Also there are some icons always visible on my windows taskbar that are not visible on the DF taskbars.

Hi, after updating to Beta 23 most of my Tray icons are back but some are still missing. Maybe you can reproduce it on your end.
On my second bar I'm missing Bluetooth Devices, NVIDIA Settings, Power Toys, iCloud and MicroSIP.

Edit: After rebooting iCloud is back. MicroSIP does also show up but the icon won't update.

When the main windows taskbar is not hidden all works well.
The missing taskbar icon is from "hwinfo" Edit: also "Nvidia control panel". Other icons work!
Thank you

Neither of my DF taskbars (on main screen or secondary screen) have that up arrow to show the rest of my tray icons. I still only have the network and volume icons with this new beta.

I've found another problem with DF Beta 23. Since Microsoft broke previous ways to make the Windows taskbar transparent, I was looking for a solution, and after upgrading to DF Beta 23 I've found one. It uses ViveTool to disable feature 26008830 STTest, after reboot, apps like TranslucentTB can toggle the taskbar transparent on the fly again.
But the DF taskbar will behave oddly, unlike Beta 22 not show any app tray icon other than mic/internet/sound, but only shows little tray icons. The space for tray icons is dead set, and won't auto-expand like before, also the show hidden icons button is missing like in Beta 22.
If using ViveTool to enable feature 26008830 STTest and reboot, DF Beta 23 taskbar will be back to normal except for the problem with LibreHardwareMonitor, and the taskbar won't be able to become transparent again. (for my finding, only Start11 can make the taskbar transparent successfully on Windows 11 build 22621.1413, but I don't want to have one paid app that only does one such little feature)

While b23 wasn't perfect, b24 is worse for me. There are no app icons in the systray at all and every time the main taskbar auto-hides/shows the DF taskbar seems to reload. (blank out and redraw)

I attached the debug info for b24 before I went back to b23.

Beta23 had only a couple small issues for me. The overflow button for extra icons is missing when the primary taskbar is auto-hidden and the DF taskbar will show extra icons if the primary taskbar is set to show only some icons from a specific program.

I attached a video of both of those issues. The red 0 and white jet are from MSI Afterburner and can be hidden separately in Windows.

How do I sign up for the beta guys? I bought Display Fusion because I heard I would be able to have systray icons on my secondary which I wanted to give me more control while running full screen games and apps on my primary, unfortunately on the current release that's not possible. If there is any way I could access the new build that would be great. Not sure if it makes any difference but I am on a steam license.

In the DF Settings window, Options tab... you can set the Update Check to include Beta versions. For me, the most recent beta isn't the best... so if you want to download a specific beta, then you use this website shown in this image... and scroll down a bit.

Ok so I finally got the little "up arrow" back so I could see the rest of my tray icons... until I rebooted. After reboot the up arrow is gone again.
DF 10 beta 24
Windows 11 22H2 - Build 22621.1413
When I click on the taskbar it will randomly flash, show the arrow, flash again and arrow again is gone. It looks as if the DF bar is crashing and re-loading continuously.

Updated to Beta 24 and rebooted.
No changes for me compared to Beta 23 except the MicroSIP icon sometimes randomly changing status color.

Hello! 10.0 Beta 24 is working worse than Beta 23. I have the Windows main monitor taskbar with auto hide because on Windows 11, if you don't have it with auto hide, both Windows and Display Fusion taskbars are shown (could you please fix that too?)

Beta 24 is working worse because with the Windows auto-hide taskbar, every time I press the Windows key, the taskbars get crazy and the computer takes a while to respond. This doesn't happen with Beta 23.

The Beta 23 fixes took some tray icons to the taskbar back, but it's still lacking the "up arrow" to see the hidden tray icons.

Windows 11 Version 22H2 (22621.1413)

So a summary of things that aren't working as expected:
- The DisplayFusion taskbar should override completely the Windows taskbar so they don't "fight" and you don't need to set the Windows taskbar to autohide
- Hidden tray icons are still missing
- Beta 24 introduces some problems when the windows taskbar comes back from auto-hide and it makes both taskbars unresponsive for a while.

Thank you!

Are beta's not accessible via Steam? I see no beta tab under Library > Display Fusion > Properties. (Which is where beta versions are usually accessed via Steam)

I've never used Steam except for the initial install. Use DF itself to download updates or use this very website to download specific beta versions.

This might help others having the same issue I had with a missing "Show Hidden Icons" arrow.
I have StartAllBack installed, and under teh Taskbar option I had "Use enhanced classic taskbar" selected.
That made the arrow vanish, unchecking it allowed for the return of the arrow.

I have the "Steam" edition.
In Display Fusion, under "Options" and "Update Check" I selected "Check for new Beta (newer, unstable) versions" and that allows DisplayFusion to install the latest beta versions.
The only issue I have had is being reminded by Steam that there is a new, non-beta version, but that's easy enough to ignore.

Hope this helps!

After installing Beta 25 and performing a reboot no changes for me compared to Beta 23 and 24.
Icons for PowerToys, NVIDIA Settings and Bluetooth are still missing. MicroSIP doesn't update correctly.

Interestingly when I used Awake from PowerToys recently the Icon showed up correctly.

The only things I see missing is that it would be cool to override completely the Windows taskbar, so it shouldn't be hidden (if you don't set it to auto-hide you would have a double taskbar), and as a minor thing to improve: the tray arrow makes the windows taskbar to appear from below in order to open the hidden icons box.

Thank you for the improvements!

Apart from some missing icons on de DF taskbar compared to the windows taskbar (fi Hwinfo) beta 25 is fine for me and I can hide the taskbars again and it seems more fluent when not reloading them.
I have a program iconviewer installed to extract icons from .exe files and it seems to me there is a problem when the icon size in the .exe file is not 16x16. I guess you guys know more about that than I do.;)
