The DF taskbar works pretty well but has a few differences to the stock one. The most obvious and annoying is the start button, but also the spacing is different.

Also several third party apps, including StartIsBack, have added an option to change the taskbar icon size back to 32px from the default 24px. It would be nice if DF could support this option.

Attached is a picture of the two side by side. Stock one on the left.

Thanks! It looks like the large Start button and the lack of search + task view buttons are contributing to the weird spacing on the DF taskbar.

Could you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info?
  • Open the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the Copy to Clipboard button
  • Open Notepad, paste the text, and save the file

I've also noticed this issue, and was wondering what the cause was.
Top one is the default and bottom the DF one.

Using small icons on the default one, but seems the icon scale is also off on the DF one too.

I know I'm not the OP, but this issue was annoying me, so thought I'd post here as well.

Can you try the newly released Beta 3 and let me know if it fixes anything for you? Thanks!

Hi, the latest beta 4 seems to have fixed the sizing of the icons somewhat, but not the size of the start button.

This could however be more StartisBack related now that I think about it?
Regardless, here is what it looks like now.

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

I'm also trying to use 32px Icons (to match StartIsBack's Large icons feature) but I cannot figure out how.

@dpeeri: Could you send me a screenshot of both of your taskbars?

I'm using "startisback" to make my Icons Sized 32x32 just like they were in Windows 7.

This makes the DisplayFusion 24x24 (Windows 10 Default) look smaller. I refuse to use 24x24 resampled icons that Microsoft has introduced in W10, and I always use either startisback or another utility to make them 32x32 unscaled.

Where's the option in StartIsBack for the icon sizes? I'll give it a test here and see what I can find out.

Thanks!

You have 2 potential options:
1) Startisback (right click on start button, select "Properties")

2) 7+ TaskBar Tweaker

Thanks! If you set the "Taskbar Button Icon Size Override" option in the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings window to 32, then apply the settings and restart DisplayFusion, does that work? It seems to work correctly for me here.
