I am about to just uninstall DF and ask for a refund.

I am using DF to enable splitting my 5120x1440 monitor into four sets of 1280x1440.

However, I can't seem to find a way to NOT snap to sets of 1280x1440. Holding the Shift modifier key just full screens the window. How do I drag normally?

If you hold shift while dragging, and keep it held while letting go of the mouse button, it shouldn't maximize it to the split automatically. If it's still doing that, any chance you could send me a debug log?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

It doesn't maximize it to the split, it maximizes it to the entire screen. I just want to drag the window, not resized and snapped to a split, not maximized to the entire screen, normally. I want to get back the stock behavior of dragging around windows with a modifier, while being able to snap to splits without it (or vice-versa).

That's the weird part though, if you hold Shift while dragging the window, DisplayFusion shouldn't be trying to maximize it to a split, nor to the full monitor. When you're holding Shift and dragging, are you still seeing the big monitor ID overlays for the monitors while dragging?
