DisplayFusion 3.2 Released!

DisplayFusion 3.2 has been released! This is a hefty update, filled with tons of new features and a handful of bug fixes. Version 3.2 was built using community feedback (from the forums and email), and was tested extensively by the community for over 2 months. The result is one of the most stable and feature-packed releases yet! Here is just a taste of the new features in this release:

  • Taskbars can now show a clock
  • Multi-Monitor Screen Savers are now supported
  • Added more Window Snapping options (snap mode, snap key modifier... etc)
  • Window application edges are now lined up (if close enough) when snapping
  • Wallpaper Profiles are now supported
  • Flickr random image loader will now select from the newest 500 images, not the newest 100
  • Added an Advanced Setting called "Wallpaper: Run Program After Wallpaper Change" to run an external program after each wallpaper change (like BGInfo)
  • Added a "Move window to specified location" HotKey (custom) and TitleBar Button
  • Added a "Toggle Window Transparency" HotKey and TitleBar Button
  • Added a "Backup Settings" button to the Troubleshooting tab in the Settings window for generating a .REG file backup
  • Added the ability for system Administrators to set certain settings, look in the FAQ
  • Fixed some font scaling issues at lower scales (110%)
  • Fixed some localization issues in the Settings window

To see the complete list of changes, please visit the DisplayFusion Change Log. As always, I would encourage everyone to update to this new version today. If you run into any issues, please visit the DisplayFusion Support page to see all of the different support options available. Thanks everyone!

Don't worry, that's coming in the next release.

I can't seem to find out something about the licensing. Does a license give access to future Major version releases, or just minor upgrades?

Thank you!

@Rock: All DisplayFusion Pro licenses are lifetime licenses, you'll never have to pay for any updates in the future.

When will start menu button duplication be coming to the program? Also, will this include a taskbar and show desktop option like in Windows 7?

The ability to create shortcuts to open applications on a certain monitor / size was due to be included in 3.2 (http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1485.0), has this been delayed?

@Marc: Sorry, this feature was pushed back. I am aiming to include it in version 3.3 in early 2011.

I've noticed that when I click on the titlebar button to move to the next monitor that the titlebar disappears ...If I minimize the window then maximise it again the titlebar reappears...

Am I missing something here or is this supposed to happen???

@Jack: Which version of DisplayFusion are you using, and does this happen with all applications or only some? Can you give the new Beta a try as well:

The wallpaper changer would be much more of use if it changed top and bottom of the hour.

This feature (http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1766.msg8220#msg8220) was scheduled to be in version 3.2. Has that been postponed? I totally understand if it has, I was just wondering which version it will now be in so I know when I can expect it.

Thanks. And once again, I love your software. Display fusion is so awesome. Thank you so much for developing it.

@Stabbs: My apologies, I had to bump this feature to version 3.2.1 (in development now) because of time restraints. I expect this feature to make it into the betas in January.
